Verizon Wireless is a national cellular phone provider. If you've recently purchased a new Verizon cell phone, you must activate or program the phone before it will work. If you already have a working cell phone, you should update the roaming capabilities of the phone each month to prevent accidental roaming overage charges. You can perform both of these tasks directly from the phone itself by dialing a special number then specifying whether you wish to program or update the phone. Have a question?
